How I work
Depending on the challenge, I work as a 1:1 advisor to the CEO, facilitate your leadership team, teach in executive programs, or speak at your event. The format changes with the situation. The aim stays the same: better choices, acted on consistently.
Good strategy starts with naming the real challenge and making clear choices about how to win. I facilitate strategy design with you and your leadership team, so the strategy that comes out is one the whole team owns and can lead.
Strategy creates value only when it shapes decisions across the organization. I help you translate choices into priorities and initiatives, align functions and teams behind them, and set up a regular rhythm to review progress and adapt as reality changes.
Over time, your organization should need less outside help with strategy. I build capability at three levels: individual leaders who think and judge more sharply, leadership teams that debate and decide better, and an organization with repeatable ways of doing strategy well. For more than 20 years, Marc has worked with CEOs and leadership teams at Accenture, BMW, De Beers, McDonald's, HSBC, and others on strategy, growth, and transformation. He holds a DBA from Alliance Manchester Business School, teaches strategy in executive education, and wrote The Art of Opportunity (Wiley).
