Research Interests

Marc's research interests focus on strategy, organization and talent
in the knowledge economy.
Particular interests are how to enable continuous strategic innovation
and renewal, even in the abscence of a crisis, how to make innovation everybody's everyday job, and how to create highly engaging workplaces.
He is fascinated by the process by which radically new strategic ideas
are translated into action. He tries to understand how organizations need to be modified so that they can achieve their strategic ambitions, how corporations can build breakthrough businesses, reinvent themselves and instill the capabilities for continous innovation and renewal into their organizational DNA.

Current Projects

Current projects focus on the organizational context and strategic
organizational design enabling continous strategic innovation, and the process of drafting innovative strategies, as well as making professional strategic management a core capability of the corporation.

"Strategic Innovation A Synthesis of the Current Debate" is a report drawing on secondary research, but also featuring new tools and ideas on the content, process, and organizational context of strategic innovation. It synthesises the current debate into a comprehensive framework, allowing companies to address the issues involved from different angles and viewpoints.

Each chapter contains not only practical advices on how to develop innovative strategies, but offers summaries, and trigger questions to gain new insights and help challenge managers' and companies' mental models.
